I am trying to use RadGridView.RowPain. I need an extra header row to show that the columns are categorized:
e.g.
This should be relatively easy, except I don't know how to find out the cell locations for the column headers. Because my cells cannot be moved, I tried adding up the cell widths, I had some success - except when use the horizontal scroll bar.
Please can someone explain how to get the cell locations.
Thanks
e.g.
[-------- Category A --------][-------- Cat B --------][-------- Category C --------]
[--- Col 1 ---][--- Col 2 ---][------- Col 3 --------][--- Col 4 ---][--- Col 5 ---]

Hello,
In RadGridView there are two ways of doing this via View Definitions. Please have a look at the documentation on
Column Groups Views and HTML Views
Hope that helps.

Richard

Thanks - that appears to be exactly what I need. Is it only in Q3 2010 or did I miss it earlier?

The project I have picked up is now using 2010 Q2 SP2 (I tried to upgrade to 2010 Q3 but had too many compatibility problems to fit my tight timescale). The Column Groups are in this version.
Thanks again :)
I don't use Telerik every day and there are so many features and I don't always know what to search for in the documentation - I usually try to find similar things using google or this forum's search engine. This time I failed to find anything. I must learn to find my way through the documentation better.

Hi,
If you get stuck, just ask on the forums. There's lots of documentation but of course it can't cover everything. You can usually get a reply here to whatever you need.
All the best
Richard
