Has anyone had an issue where the RAD ToolBar does not display when trying to edit a page? 99% of our website authors have no issues.

Some users have started to author for the first time and i have 3 cases where their PC/MAC does not display the ToolBar when they click in the Page Content to edit.

But they have tried another PC/MAC and it's fine. Appears to be PC specific in particular these are Windows 7, MAC
OSX Lion 10.7.1 and OSX Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

Any ideas on where to look or how to resolve? These are new PC's/MAC and we are using RADEditor for MOSS2007 version 2010.3.1317.

Hello It Orders,

Please open the /Program Files/Common Files/Microsoft Shared/web server extensions/wpresources/RadEditorSharePoint/5.x.x.0__1f131a624888eeed/Resources/ConfigFile.xml and ListConfigFile.xml files and set the ToolbarMode property to Default, e.g.

<property name="ToolbarMode">Default</property>

Save the files.

Let me know if the problem still persists after this change? Are there any JavaSript errors on the page when it happens?

Best regards,

I looked at the config.xml file and the property was set to ShowOnFocus. <property name="ToolbarMode">ShowOnFocus</property>

I changed this to Default and the users with the issues confirmed that the toolbar is now showing.

However we don't want to keep this Default setting as we have 3 content areas on the page and all 3 areas display a toolbar which clutters the screen and confuses users.

These users with the problem have confirmed with ShowOnFocus back as the setting the toolbar no longer display but they don't see an error in the browser either.

Is this JavaScript related issue or do you have any suggestions on what the issue could be related to and how to resolve.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Version 2010.3.1317 does not support IE9 and for this reason my recommendation is to upgrade to the latest Q3 2011 release (version 2011.3.1115).

If the ShowOnFocus mode still does not work, you can test the PageTop and the Floating toolbar modes as well.

Best wishes,
