We had Radeditor set up and working perfectly on all of our SharePoint websites, then all of the sudden the Radeditor stopped replacing the default editor. I noticed it still worked in Radeditor WebParts, but none of the Wiki or other content editing areas were using the Radeditor. I deactivated and reactivated on all sites, but no luck. I then retracted the solution and re-deployed it. Then activated it again on all sites and no luck again.

I am wondering what else i can try. I used the iisreset command at every intermediate stage, including after activating the features on the site and I am still unable to use the RadEditor on anything but a web part on all websites that were previously working fine.

Thanks!

Hello Brad,
Could you confirm exactly which version of the control you are using? Then I will be able to give you an appropriate suggestion for resolving the problem.

Stanimir,
Thanks for the reply. We are currently using version 4.5.6. I believe this is the only version of Radeditor Lite that we have ever used. We only installed it last summer (2009) and i believe this was the latest version available then. Below is some additional configuration information:

Server is running Windows Server 2003 R2.
SharePoint is set up as a single server installation.
We only have 1 content web application, and then the central admin web application.

If you need any further information, just let me know.

Hi Brad,
Here is what to do.
1. Make sure that you are logged as an Administrator user.
2. Disable all the RadEditor features.
3. Perform iisreset.
4. Enable all the RadEditor freatures.
5. Perform iisreset.
6. Make sure that you have RadEditorList.ascx in the Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\CONTROLTEMPLATES folder.

The first time you activate a RadEditor feature, you must be logged as an Administrator user. This is required, because the editor needs to update the default list editing template by copying a file - from \TEMPLATE\FEATURES\RadEditorFeature\RadEditorList.ascx to \TEMPLATE\CONTROLTEMPLATES\RadEditorList.ascx.

Best wishes,

Ahhh yes.. this seems to have finally done the trick! Now i just need to reconfigure some custom buttons, but I should be able to handle that no problem. Thanks!
