Hello Mark,

The ListEditor spellchecks as Html. Our editor also offers spellcheck of text but as Html as well, so technically speaking, yes you can.
Where exactly do you intend to use this? a list, WCM?

Hi,

I am using the RadEditor in both cases. However the SpellCheck button does not appear. I can edit the ToolsFile.xml and add the button but i don't know the command name (i guessed at SpellCheck).

Thanks for your help

Kind Regards

Hello Mark,

I am sorry for the confusion. The RadSpell component is disabled in the current version of the MOSS editor (4.0.0). We will enable the spell component with the next release (4.1.0). You will be able to use both the Ajax engine (AjaxSpellCheck tool) and the old dialog based spell (SpellCheck tool).

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply. Any chance you could give me an idea of when the new release will be available?

Kind Regards

Hi Mark,

It was supposed to be out last week, but we ran into some problems during bug testing so we had to postpone for this week. We are currently updating the MOSS editor documentation to reflect the recent changes. When this is done, we will be ready for an official release (today or tomorrow).

Sincerely yours,

Hi Lini,

I downloaded the new free version of the MOSS rad Editor (is it 4.1 or 1.1, there is a little bit confusion) and what I see ist, that the rad spell checking component ist NOT part of this version. The feature list shows this fact , too. OK, it's a free tool an gives me the ability to work wich rich text components of MOSS  in a Firefox Browser. But if I use the rad Edior also in IE (this is a new feature of the editor for MOSS) the default MOSS spellchecking componet shows only html-tags an not the text in the popwindow. Without the rad Editor the spellcheking pop up works fine. Can I "repair" that behaviour?

Thanks and Kind Regards

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

We are aware the problem with the current Lite (free) RadEditor for MOSS and the MOSS built-in spell checking. Currently we are looking into possible solutions for it. The next release of the RadEditor for MOSS Lite will have spellchecking capabilities. I am sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you.

Hi,

Just wondering whether the lite control has been updated yet? I just installed it, and added the AjaxSpellCheck tool to the ToolsFile.xml file, but I receive the following error when I click on the tool:

"Could not find the command AjaxSpellCheck. Please update your command list."

Hello Darren,

I am afraid that the update is still not available. Due to some last-minute problems we decided to postpone the release for several days and make sure that everything will work as expected.

The release should be out at the end of this week  or in  the beginning of the next one. Please excuse us for the delay.

Hi,

Just wondering if the new version with the spellchecker has been released yet? I can only see the 6/1/2007 version listed in the available downloads.

Thank you,
Darren

Hi Darren,

We are in a RC state and the Lite version will be released in the next several days. If you want, you can open a new support ticket and we will send you the RC build so you can test it in your environment - your feedback will be highly appreciated.

I'm unclear here.  Is there a spell checker in lite version 4.3.1?

Hello,

Yes, the 4.3.1 Lite version of the MOSS RadEditor includes the RadSpell control as well. This means that you can add spell checking to the RadEditor by simply adding the "AjaxSpellCheck" or "SpellCheck" tools to the tools file. You can find more information about how to do that in the MOSS RadEditor documentation.

Best wishes,
