I've followed the installation instructions from here: http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet-ajax/installing-radeditor-in-moss-2007-farm.html

  1. I've Installed asp.net 2.0 extensions 1.0
  2. added all those items to the web.conf for the web app as posted here: http://sharepoint.microsoft.com/blogs/mike/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=3
  3. I've added the script manager to the masterpage
  4. I uninstalled both features and made it available from for activation on the site collection level
  5. I've iisreset everything.
  6. features are activated

its still not being displayed when i edit a list item.

plz help.

Hello Thomas,
If you are using the Lite version of RadEditor for MOSS, there is no need for you to extend your MOSS site with ASP.NET AJAX and there is no need of script manager on the page. This control is based on the classic RadEdtitor for ASP.NET AJAX.

Regarding the problem

The first time you activate a RadEditor feature, you must be logged as an Administrator user. This is required, because the editor needs to update the default list editing template by copying a file - from \TEMPLATE\FEATURES\RadEditorFeature\RadEditorList.ascx to \TEMPLATE\CONTROLTEMPLATES\RadEditorList.ascx.

The file is copied by the IIS worker process, which in turn is impersonating the currently logged in user. That is why you need to be logged in as an Administrator to be able to copy the file. Once the file is copied, any user can activate/deactivate the RadEditor features. The RadEditorList.ascx file will stay until you uninstall the RadEditor for MOSS product.

Stanimir,

Thanks for the reply.

This particular site is mainly FBA and accessing the ad side is difficult. So i was able to log in as the administrator account on the AD side and activate the Use RadEditor to edit List Items .. I did notice that the RadEditorList.ascx was copied to the CONTROLTEMPLATES folder. When I activated Use RadEditor to edit List Items in Internet Explorer as well nothing new was copied over.

Next I login to the site via FBA administrator user, go to a custom list i created, the rich text fields are still sharepoint default. Is there something else I should check for?

thx for your help

Hi Thomas,
Did you perform an iisreset command?
