As files are getting bigger and bigger I think the demand to enable download of huge files is on the rise.
I'm currently developing the ability to download files with Silverlight.
But a good idea is for Telerik to create an AsyncDownload similar to AsyncUpload just in the other direction.

In addition the control can have additional features :

    1. Download directly from ftp/sftp server.(good idea for AsyncUpload )
    2. The control should enable for over 2GB files and automatically utilize Silverlight WCF/FLASH/HTTP according to what is available on the client computer.
    3. Pause and resume buttons. (good idea for AsyncUpload )
    4. Include progress bar indication.
    5. Incorporate in RadGrid

I'd love to hear all your input on the issue.

    Hi Mary,

Such a control has not been yet added in the RadControls suite for ASP.NET AJAX. Please have a look at this forum thread which deals with a similar scenario.

    Thanks,
    Shinu.
