Hi,

I have noticed that partial ajaxification does not work on Mono.
The entire page posts back.

I am currently using v2009.2.826.20 and the same thing happens. It works fine on IIS7 but not Mono.

Also, whenever I have a page linked to a master page, and that page contains a RadAjaxManager, that page is inaccesable and gives the following error: Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object
It does however work with RadAjaxPanel but I would like to use RadAjaxManager instead for performance.
The same error also occurs when enabling the compression module.

Thanks,
K

Hello Konrad,

Thank you for reporting the issue related to the partial ajaxification demo. As a sign of gratitude I updated your Telerik points. We will also investigate the depicted case with RadAjaxManager and MasterPages and will do our best to address it.
Unfortunately at this point, RadCompression is not supported under Mono.

Best regards,
Daniel

When will a fix or workaround be available for the partial ajaxification problem?

Hello Konrad,

I'm afraid I don't have any news on the issue at this point. I hope I will be able to provide more information in the next week. Thank you for your understanding.

Do you have anything working yet or have you given up till Telerik gets a fix?  I am experiencing the exact same problems and I am not finding a solution.

No solution yet. For now I have to use RadAjaxPanel.
Im hoping it will be fixed in the next release.

I have a question: have you had any trouble using the RadScriptManager?
When I put that on my master page, some of the content pages give an error.
Cant remember what it was now but the page wont load at all.
As a result Ive had to use the standard Ajax ScriptManager and as a result I cant benefit
from script combining and compression.

That may be the same problem I am having.  I have a RadScriptManer and a RadAjaxPanel on one of my Master pages.  And any page that uses that Master will not load.  If I comment out the RadAjaxPanel it loads just fine.  But the page that loads does not use the RadScriptManagerProxy so it is not doing anything with it.    I have not tried to load a page that has a RadAjaxManagerProxy that is associated with the Master page.

I am jst now digging into these problems.  I am just frustrated that the "just copy your Asp.Net code to Mono and it will work" theory is total crap.  This feels like a lot of trial and error to get this stuff to work.

I have issued a couple of bug tickets and example code to Telerik to see about these problems and I see that you have as well.

Post back here if you find any solutions and I will do the same.  Maybe we can help each other and the next person through this.

Hello,

Please note that the .NET 3.5 version of RadControls doesn't work with Mono.

Jay found a problem with RadScriptManager - our developers are doing their best to address it as soon as possible.

Ok so there is a problem in RadScriptManager.

I am aware that mono mainly support framework 2.0 so I am using the controls compiled for framework 2.0

Thanks.

Hello Konrad and Jay,

Our developers already fixed one of the issues related to RadScriptManager and script combining feature. I hope the second problem will also be fixed in a timely manner.

Hi,

I just installed 2009.Q3 version of the components.
I still get the same "Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object" error on mono.

Konrad

Just an observation I made, since version 2009.3.1208
it appears the RadCompression module works under Mono (previously it caused problems)

Whether it actually compresses I have not checked yet but so far no errors. :)

I recently upgraded to 2010 Q1 and thought I would give this another go.

I still get the following when using a RadAjaxManager. RadAjaxPanel works fine though.

Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object

Any news on getting this fixed?

Hello Bruno and Konrad,

The problem with the partial ajaxification is not resolved yet. Can you please let me know how/where you get this exception? Which version of Mono should be used to reproduce it?

Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object

Hello,

Hi I've got a few questions about mono and radajaxmanager:
Is there any progres in Radajaxmanager and Mono case?
Are you still not supporting Radajaxmanager under Mono?
Do you plan to resolve current Radajaxmanager issues under Mono?

I'd be thankful for any answer.

Kind regards,
Marcin

Hello Marcin,

Yes, I confirm that RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX suite supports Mono. As you probably know, most of the aforementioned issues are caused by limitations in Mono. Some of the issues were recently resolved (thanks to Marek), so I recommend that you wait for the next official Mono release.
