So aspnet_users is the main user table for us...pretty much all DB tables reference it or can get to it though a few navigation properties

So if I make a new diagram and the tables in that diagram reference it...how do I get that linked back to the main one?  Does it know it was already mapped somewhere else and brings in the save namespace\properties, is it like if I modify in one spot it changes it in both diagrams...??

Hi Steve,

If you use multiple diagrams, all changes made to one diagram are automatically synchronized with the other diagrams as well. In you case, for example, if an aspnet_users class is moved to a diagram different than the default one, all the relations with other classes will remain though their links won't be visible because the other classes are in a different diagram. You should still be able to see the navigational properties and use the "Edit association" context menu command if needed.

Multiple diagrams are just different visualizations of the same model. If a class is added to two or more diagrams, and is edited in the first one, this will affect the shapes for this class on all diagrams. More on the subject can be found in this article.

I you have any other questions or need further information please do not hesitate to get back to us.

Regards,
Yordan

Yes yes, of course :) ...but I don't want to get 2 days into this and have something game-breaking happen you guys already know about

So nobody has reported anything yet?

Hi Steve,

Currently we do not have any severe issues open in Multiple Diagrams.

By the way, we have just started to maintain a forum thread for serious issues and breaking changes so that you can have maximum information on the current status of the product. You can find it here. Following it could be useful for determining if you have to be careful when using a certain functionality or if you are upgrading to the particular release.

Do not hesitate to get back to us if you have any questions on the Multiple Diagrams feature - we are also very open to feature requests, since this is one of the less mature features in the product and it probably has room for improvement.

Ivailo
