    Dear Telerik,

we have an active Telerik platform subscription where we use app builder to create a cordova application.

We are currently evaluating the possibilities for push notifications for our application.

Our application is a messaging client which is used on premises (our customers are companies that maintain their own infrastructure and have their own users who use our app in order to access the company data).

What is the plan for such situations?

Should each company acquire a distinct telerik subscription for push notifications or we can use our subscription for all companies?
(Each company will have a separate connection with backed services in order to send their notifications).

     Thanks!

    Hello Ioannis,

Each Telerik Platform license comes with certain number of allowed Push Notifications per month. If the number of push notifications you expect to send fits into your license, you can certainly use one appllication/account for all your clients.

You can find more information about different Telerik Platform licenses here.

Note, that if you use a single Telerik Platform application, all client devices(phones) will be stored in this application. This is not a problem, but you must be careful when sending push notifications and target them properly. If you fail to do so you might send a notification for one of your client companies to an employee of another.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Dear Lyubomir Dokov,

    thanks for your immediate reply.

We need your help on one more issue:

We have an ongoing "AppBuilder Professional Edition" subscription with Telerik.

When we try to send push notifications to segments using Telerik Backed Services we notice that although we have successfully sent push notifications to Platform Specific devices we cannot filter those devices by segment (actual per device ID) as there is a messages saying "Sending push notifications to segments is not included in your current Backend Services subscription. Upgrade your subscription in order to enable this feature."

We thought that having the professional edition included the segments but we have just noticed that the subscription is now different? There is no "AppBuilder Professional Edition" any more but only "Telerik Platform" ? We cannot find any more what is included in our subscription (as there is no such plan available anymore).

Have you lately changed the available subscriptions ? What will be the status for older plans like ours ?

And most important, in order for us to be able to send push notifications to specific devices do we need to upgrade to "Telerik Platform Professional" edition ?

    Thanks!

    Hello Ioannis,

Indeed, the AppBuilder Professional edition includes Starter (free) edition for the other Telerik Platform services (Backend Services included). This said, features like Push to Segments in Telerik Backend Services is not available for this subscription tier.

This said, you may consider to upgrade to Telerik Platform Professional. I have forwarded you inquiry to your account representatives for Telerik Platform and they will get in touch with you with more information about the best upgrade options.

Let us know should you have further questions.
