Hello,

I have a Mobile website project that I have been working on and it has this option of publishing to web server, however it only allows to publish the contents if the folder does not exist already. If I would like to overwrite over the contents when the folder is already there, the publish process comes back with an error: The remote server returned an error: (550) File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access).

Any possible suggestions on either how to fix this or help me with some workaround for this issue please. Looking forward to your reply.

 Best Regards,

Iram

Hello Iram,

This error is actually returned by the web server you're uploading the files onto. I suppose its configuration somehow leads to 550 response status. You can try reconfiguring the server or manually uploading the updated project files.

I also want to use this opportunity to let you know that the Mobile Website projects will soon be discontinued in Telerik Platform. Later this year, we will be releasing Telerik Platform 2.0 -  a new app-centric interface for Telerik Platform that makes it extremely fast to integrate cloud services into your app development process. With this change, we're putting the focus into the development of hybrid and native mobile applications and we will therefore be moving the mobile websites development out of Telerik Platform. That, however, doesn't mean that we will no longer work towards a unified approach for mobile development on all fronts - hybrid, native and web. On the contrary, we are already working on a major initiative to enable a pure web development approach to building apps that run responsively on desktop and mobile browsers, so stay tuned fore more info on that front.

In the meantime, please check out this announcement post and join us in the upcoming webinar on December, 3rd. You can also take a sneak-peek at the new look and feel of Telerik Platform 2.0 here.

Hello Tina,

Thanks for your reply. That's great to know that you are working towards a pure web development approach, however I am really interested in knowing as to when can I expect this? The reason I ask is because I am at that stage where I am building the mobile website project here at Telerik and would like to continue on that front but since it is going to be discontinued I am going to have to look into other options (other than Telerik) where I can get this done. If this is going to be available in a few weeks or so, I can wait till this becomes available and adjust our plans accordingly. If this became available after a few months or so and I am already developing on some other platform, then it may be too late for me to come back to Telerik Platform. Could you kindly let me know a tentative date? Looking forward to your reply.

Cheers.

Iram

Hi Iram,

Thanks for reaching back to us. Per your question, we are in process of re-evaluating the opportunity to deliver pure web development and the story beyond that, but it is more on the conceptual level, and unfortunately I cannot commit to an exact delivery dates -w hat I could share is that it will not be in the next couple of month.

Furthermore, to ensure a proper solution for those looking for web development and mobile development, is provided -  we would like to capture as many as possible use-cases and paint point developers like you are having.

Would be ok, for you to share more about your case, what  kind of web projects are building, what fist led you to our product, what others are you considering?

Thank you in advance and looking forward to your answers.

Best regards,
