Hi,

In the documentation one can read on the page:
http://docs.telerik.com/platform/analytics/api/public-api

that:

"Telerik Analytics offer a public REST-based API for
accessing the collected statistics data for your applications as an
Analytics client.

The API is documented here: http://platform.telerik.com/analytics/spec/"

However at the page http://platform.telerik.com/analytics/spec/ one has to enter a private API key. To get this key one is referred to the options page documented at http://docs.telerik.com/platform/analytics/client/settings/introduction

I have tried using the project key but cannot get it to work. How is one supposed to access the public api? We are planning to use this interface to backup and integrate our data so it is important to us.

Hi,

I'm afraid our docs were updated too soon by (my) mistake: the Analytics Client that has the new options for creating Public API Keys was held back a few days but the docs were already updated with the link. We're just in the process of releasing it now. It may be released tomorrow Friday and if not then it will certainly be released at Monday.

I will notify you as soon as it's available and apologize for the confusion.
