Currently we show the number of stories, bugs, issues and risks assigned to the user (in the small gray circle), the sum of the estimates of those items (in the blue square) and the completed percentage of those items based on the estimates.
I like your idea for being able to choose what metric to use for those fields and I feel that being the same as the one applied for the burndown would be best.
I have added a new feature request in our Ideas & Feedback Portal which you can vote for. Here is another feature request that you may find intriguing.
