I installed the latest and greatest WPF suite. And the very latest VS Studio extensions. When I create a new Telerik C# Windows project, the Project configuration wizard comes up. But, there is nothing in it, and the Finish button is disabled. There is nothing in the drop-down list, and there is nothing under either tab. If I click on 'Download', I get a message about newer result not found. If I click on 'Browse', it's out to Explorer - but I don't know what I'm searching for.

So, my start with Telerik is not so great...

Hi James,

Thank you for contacting us.

When the Project configuration wizard gets displayed you must see the latest compatible version of the RadControls for WPF. This means that if you have the latest version of RadControls for WPF for .NET 3.5 installed and you try to create new project that targets .NET 4.0, you won't see this latest distribution.

The easiest way to check if you have installed the RadControls for WPF for .NET 3.5 is to create a new project that targets .NET 3.5 and make sure that the assemblies show up in the Project configuration wizard.

If that's the case you should uninstall the current version and install the correct one. Here is a link to all latest RadControls for WPF resources: http://www.telerik.com/account/your-products/product-versions/single-download.aspx?pmvid=2449&pid=601

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks, Chadvar, that was indeed the problem.

The main link on the download page is for the 3.5 version, but it doesn't say this anywhere. Only when I click on the link for individual installers do I find the link to the 4.0 version. Both carry the same version number, so this is a little confusing.

I uninstalled 3.5 and then installed with this msi:

RadControls_for_WPF_40_2011_1_0419_Dev.msi

Now the project configuration wizard works as expected. However, I seem to have lost my integrated help. There is a link to the online help in the Start Menu, but in VS help there is nothing for Telerik.

Hello James,

I am glad that installing the 4.0 version resolved the problem.

RadControls for WPF 4.0 requires Visual Studio 2010 which supports only Help3 documentation. Unfortunately the development of the Help3 documentation for RadControls for WPF is still in progress. We are doing our best for providing this feature as soon as possible, but for the moment I would recommend you to use the online help as a workaround.

Best regards,
