Just Trace can profile a Silverlight browser application, why can't it also profile an OOB application. if i pass file:///C:/APP/Modules/App.xap into the url Just Trace self destructs. I would think that it would launch the OOB app, competitior products do. At the very least it should tell the url is invalid.

Hello Brad,

thank you for the kind words. We are working hard to make JustTrace a powerful and easy to use tool. I am glad that it helps you.

Please note that currently, Silverlight OOB profiling is supported only in JustTrace stand-alone application.

Hello Brad,

I'm glad to hear that JustTrace standalone profiling of SL OOB application works for you now.
Any other feedback is also much appreciated.
Our further communication regarding the other issue you've reported will continue in your other ticket.

Can you please give the steps you used to get it working?  If I put the file:// path in the URL section of Silverlight Application it tries to open the xap in the browser.  I can't seem to get it to profile an OOB.  I have build Trial Version Q1 2012 Internal Build 2012.1.123.0

Thanks,

Jason

Hello Jason,

In the current version you will have to put a local windows path, UNC path or local path with file:///. If you need to specify a network path you can use the \\server\share\file_path syntax.

The support for file:// paths will be fixed In the next internal release of JustTrace.

Thank you for writing to us!

Kind regards and happy profiling,
Martin
