Hi,

I knew that you didn't support this control from your site.

And I had the problem about IE 11, Firefox. Please see link http://i.imgur.com/gltkd5W.png. So I will update to new RadEditor Ajax for free, right?

If yes, please give me know how to do it. (I only need to update DLL in Telerik\UI for ASP.NET AJAX Q2 2015\Bin35 or Bin4x folder to my project???) .

If no, please explain to me that why I must pay to you a fee? And how much I will pay to you?

Thanks in advances,

Huy Tran.

Hello Huy Tran,

The "Classic" suite of controls has been discontinued several years ago an the new AJAX-based suite was created to replace them. Thus, they are separate products and you need a separate license for them. If you need more details and/or a quote for the pricing, you can reach out to sales@telerik.com.

As for an upgrade path - I suggest the following process:

  1. follow this article to see how to use the AJAX suite: http://docs.telerik.com/devtools/aspnet-ajax/general-information/adding-the-telerik-controls-to-your-project.
  2. ensure you have the needed assemblies in the ~/bin folder: http://docs.telerik.com/devtools/aspnet-ajax/installation/included-assemblies.
  3. ensure you have the correct settings in the web.config: http://docs.telerik.com/devtools/aspnet-ajax/general-information/web-config-settings-overview.
  4. remove the old assemblies and the RadContorls folder (you would need to migrate manually any custom stylesheets and themes).
  5. most controls that have a counterpart in the "Classic" suite have an article that pairs old and new properties so it can facilitate your migration. Here is an example: http://docs.telerik.com/devtools/aspnet-ajax/controls/editor/changes-and-backwards-compatibility/migration-from-radeditor-classic-to-radeditor-for-asp.net-ajax.
  6. test the project you have thoroughly and use the demos (http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/), forums and documentation as a learning resource so you can see how to accomplish certain tasks if there are issues.
