Hi,
I've just started working with ORM Telerik.
I have seen and read the documentation but I still have problems to solve.

Situation

I create a new library project with OpenAccess ORM telerik.

At this point I have two choices:
 - first :     old menu has a   submenu  "reverse and forward  mapping"
 - second : new menu  has a  submenu "add domain model populate  or  empty ".

I have a first question:

The new menu has the same features as the old one ? I have to use the new menu?

Scope
I want to connect to an Oracle db (9i) and create some entity diagrams.
From the entities  I would like to create their tables on a sql server db.

Problems
1) Using the old menu (reverse mapping) I'm not able to  connect to an oracle db.
From wizard I cannot manually set the connection string oracle and when I fill the fields I get the following error
" ora 12514 tns listener could not resolve service_name"
2) Using the new menu Wizard I have the possibility to set the Oracle connection string manually. In this way it works, I can
connect to the DB and I create my entity. But at this point i cannot generate a script which create their tables in a SQL Server DB.

 Thank you for the help.
 Best regards

Hi Martini Luca,

The two different menus represent two different approaches of work. Additional information regarding that can be found here.
The functionality for creating tables out of your objects is called Forward mapping and it is available in both of our approaches. As for the old one in which you were not able to specify oracle can you please confirm that you have selected it from the back end drop down menu? Screenshots with explanation regarding the old wizard can be found here.
I believe you will find the following topic useful as it discusses how to generate a script out of your model when using our new approach.
Please do get back to us if you face any problems.

Best wishes,
Petar
