Pivot Grid - Configurator

I've been playing around with the Pivot Grid and the Configurator. I realize it's in beta but I'm anxious for their to be more help on the subject. The Configurator in particular is the exact functionality I was looking for but it won't work with the regular Grid. Are there any plans to make it work with it? Also specifying the datasource to conform to what is expected has been tricky whereas the regular Grid is easy. It would be nice to use the Configurator without impacting our regular Grids that are already in production. Last but not least, I have a LOT of 'Fields' that I want in the Configurator and I thought they would be auto fed in when the object is read but it doesn't. (My trial is based on the type specified in Local Binding.) What am I missing? As a side note, when an item is in the "Drop Data Fields Here" or "Drop Rows Fields Here", when an item is already there that text disappears. Maybe there should be some indicator what's actually there. I'm afraid people are going to get lost.

I'm afraid that the Pivot configurator is designed to work only with PivotDataSource and it will not support "standard" Grid widget as it is not intended to work with it. Also currently the configurator works by default only with the OLAP PivotDataSource type.
