Hi,

Am looking for help in designing and using Telerik Controls for a requirement.

Need suggestion on how to build this Map control along with Pie Charts in each of the district of a state.

Any suggestions please

Hi Kumar,

Thank you for contacting us.

You can add any UI element to the map using the MapUserLayer. I have attached a sample project that demonstrates how you can add pie charts to the map.

Hi Rosy,

Thanks for sample. Few questions here.

1. how to generate .dbf & .shp files.

2. How to specify that the Pie charts at particular location in Map.

Hi Kumar,

There are tools like MapWindow GIS that support creation of shapefiles, but creating such geo-imagery is by no means a simple task so we would suggest you to either look for some useful ready-made solutions under Creative Commons licensing (e.g. http://www.geocommons.com), or check what a commercial GIS vendor like ArcGIS can offer in terms of available shapefiles. Map shape layers support only ESRI shapefile format.

As for your second question, you have to specify the coordinates of each user defined shape - here is an article that explains how the coordinates are interpreted. As you can see in the attached project, the ChartMapDataItem inherits from the MapDataItem class, that exposes Location property.
