Hi,

We are having a problem with Paste from Word & Paste from Word, Strip Font Issue. The pasted text is broken and totally different compare to the text copied from the word document. Please find the attached for the sample text in word and the result in Chrome/FireFox. It works fine with IE edge but it does not in Chrome/FireFox.

Also when we try to bullet the last paragraph it does not work as expected, it bullets as expected but it works fine with "Paste" (Ctrl V)

Here's the link of the sample page - https://www.knowledgelink.training/Edit

Hope to hear from you soon.

Regards

Dev

Hello,

Are you able to reproduce the reported problem with the latest version of the control here?
If yes, can you please provide the original MS Word file so that we can test it?

Best regards,

Hi Romeo,

Were you able to reproduce the reported problem with the latest version in the live demos? I'm unable to replicate the issue with version 2016.3 914 and I strongly recommend to upgrade and test the fresh R3 2016 release.

I'm following up with new information about the reported scenario:

I've pasted the attached Word document (to your general feedback ticket) in the editor without stripping the formatting in Chrome and Firefox and saw that it is provided malformed by the clipboard. As explained in this help article RadEditor and the Browser Clipboard, when it comes to cross-application clipboard data transfers (e.g., pasting files, pasting from desktop applications etc.), you should note that the RadEditor handles only the HTML content provided by the browser. Since the HTML is not indented properly it's impossible to correct the bullet indentation and paste clean and well indented content in the editor.

Are you saying that there's no way to fix it? Any workarounds?

If it works in IE and Edge, why isn’t it working in Chrome and Firefox?

Hi there,

Please note that it's the browser, which provides the content conversion between the source app (MS Word) and HTML. The different browsers handle the clipboard content differently as you have already noticed.

RadEditor is just an editable IFRAME/DIV element and as such it only consumes the content provided by the browser as is, without changing it. RadEditor could only strip the MS Word formatting, but it's unable fix the mangled content.
