I used the new Telerik control panel to update my ASP.NET Ajax, Reporting and JustCode. There were no error messages shown, but if I click on ASP.NET Ajax or Reporting, it shows a status of "Partially Installed". I tried to repair both installs, but still have the same message. What the heck does it mean and how do I fix it?

Hi Jeanne,

"Partially Installed" means that some of the features for a product have been excluded during the installation. By default features such as "Local Demos" and "Visual Studio Support" for older versions are excluded because they slow down the download and the installation of the products.
If you however want this features to be installed and you will use them you could select the option "Turn Features On / Off" and check the corresponding check boxes under the desired products.

I hope this will help.

All the best,

This is good to know. The "partially installed" message did confuse me as well, considering there was no message saying that the installation was successful or not. It also sounded to me like something happened that caused the installation to fail in the middle. Therefore, I tried to also uninstall and repair, before finding this thread. I wonder if the wording should change. Thanks!

2.5 years later I had the same concern especially when the install took 1.5 hours on a 80Mbps down connection and the installer was reporting nonsense statistics (like "100MB of 89MB" downloaded). I agree with Sam the wording should be changed. Why not just "Successfully installed" if the installer was able to successfully install what was requested.

Hello Tim,

Thank you for writing yo us.

The feedback is logged in our backlog but is prioritized as an item with low priority. However, we will reconsider changing the text and let you know if it will be accepted for implementing or not.

When it comes to the problem with the downloaded megabytes, recently we have received similar reports of the described behavior but unfortunately we still do not have steps to reproduce it. Could you please help us to further investigate the issue by confirming the following:

1. What operating system do you use?
2. What type of file system do you have? You could check it by right-clicking at the hard disk drive and select General tab -> File system property.
- In case, you use NTFS, could you please check what the allocation unit size is (run the command prompt as admin and type "fsutil fsinfo ntfsInfo c:" command)? Some screenshots will be highly appreciated
3. What products have you been installing when the issue has occurred? What versions?
4. Have you reproduced the described behavior with other Telerik products? If yes, which products?
5. Did you install the Telerik products on a custom location or into the default ( C:\Program Files (x86)\Telerik) installation directory?

I am looking forward to your feedback.

Regards,
Yana
