Only default skin available even with reference to Telerick.Web.UI.Skins

I have a newly created web app  that was created using the Telerick Rad controls web app template (Telerik.Web.UI.Skins was selected). I add a Radgrid to default.aspx and in the smart tag and the properties window the Skin dropdown only shows the default skin. I have checked that there is a reference to Telerik.Web.UI.Skins and it is the same version as Telerik.Web.UI.

This problem appeared after installing 2011 Q3.

I have attached some screen shots.

Can anyone help to get the skins back?

When wa the application created, before or after installing Q3 2011?
Can you try adding the Telerik.Web.UI.Skins dll to the Bin folder of the application and reference it from there? Than restart Visual Studio and see if the issue is resolved.

The application was created after installing Q3 2011 and it affects all new projects.

The bin folder already had a copy of Telerik.Web.UI.Skins, I copied it anyway and removed the old reference and added a new reference to that new copy.  Now I can see all of the skins!  What's going on here then?

Hello Terry,

Actually if the DLL was already in the bin folder, restarting the VS is what it worked.

That is something that we examined few times. The Designer of VS is not loading the assembly properly, and it is an issue with the VS itself and not problem in our controls.
Sometimes it could actually resolve if you just right click on in the designer and choose "Refresh", but other times only restart helps.

I've downloaded the Q3 SP1 (Jan 5th) and I don't see the new 5 Metros skins that was supposed to be added. I also checked the URL where there should be new Metro skins.
Is it because the VS is not seeing these new Skins or they're not ready yet?

Hello Ben Hayat,

The new metro skins will not be included in the Skins assembly. Instead of this you will be able to get them from the Telerik’s Skin Sharing Portal.
The Skins will available for download next week.

We now have the Q1 2012 and I still don't see the new Metro skins at the link you provided. All I see is a Photoshop PSD.

Hello Afandi,

This looks like the references are correct. Try out the flowing steps to resolve the problem.

Recompile the project (make sure it does not have any compilation errors)
Close all Visual Studios
Open your project and check if this works for you.
