Hi,

I am evaluation telerik backend sevices for my upcoming project and it looks pretty good. I am evaluation other products such as parse, kinvey, buddy etc. My application (Hybrid mobile app) has a requirement of storing data locally and they synchronizing it with back-end on frequent basis. Some of the products that I have evaluated have sync frameworks to take care of this scenario but I am unable to find any similar thing on the telerik backend. I have seen sample apps for local storage etc. but how can I achieve data synchronization and caching in a hybrid app working with Telerik backend services?

Hi Muhammad,

Thank you for evaluating the Telerik Backend Services. We are hard at work to deliver offline storage and data-sync capabilities that integrate smoothly with our Backend Services JavaScript SDK. Today, the team will be announcing this technology as a native component for iOS part of our UI for iOS, and the team is working to deliver support for a hybrid app somewhere in September.

If you need synchronization of your data today with our Backend Services, you need to store data locally within a local storage, and then create a strategy for synchronizing your data to the cloud. Here is a list of important resources that might be helpful in creating an offline support for your app.

Please excuse us for the inconvenience, and we look forward to hearing your feedback on the Telerik Backend Services!

Hello,

We are happy to announce that with the new Telerik Platform support for offline synchronization of data with Telerik Backend Services you can now continue to work with your data while the app is offline, and synchronize everything with your Backend Services project when your connection is back.

For more information take a look into the blog post about Offline support for Hybrid, Web and NativeScript apps or explore the documentation from here.

A sample hybrid project developer with Telerik AppBuilder is available in this repository. You can clone it directly in your Telerik Platform account by clicking on this link.
