Is the new style builder not in the beta release? I uninstalled the prev release, installed the beta, opened my project, went to the smarttag on a textbox, and the old editor opened...
Did I do something wrong, do we get to the new editor in a different way?

Hello Steve,
Thanks for writing and for your questions. The beta release is focused on the new Visual Style Builder. It is included in this release and you can launch it by using the Start Menu and accessing the Telerik folder or directly start it from our Demos Application which now shows demos only for it and for the new features in RadScheduler control.
However, the new Visual Style Builder is currently not shown when the user clicks on 'Open Theme Builder' action of a control's Smart Tag. The reason for this behavior is that the controls still use themes designed by the old version of this tool. Old version themes cannot be used in the new Style Builder.
Currently, you can play with this tool, try to design your own themes and see how it works. We will be very grateful if you manage to send us feedback so that we can fine tune it and simplify the work with it for its official release.
I would also like to inform you, that we are going to update the Online Help adding some help articles regarding the new VSB. You will be able to access it as of the next week so that you can take a look at it.

Is there a way in the new VSB, like in the old VSB, to start skinning from one of telerik's predefined themes?

Hi Lars Solberg,
Currently, there is no such option. The predefined themes included in the Beta are made according to the old theme model, so we did not introduce the desired feature in the Beta version of Visual Style Builder. Once we make the predefined themes according to the new theme model, we will allow you to load them using the new Visual Style Builder.
The new Visual Style Builder, however, can create repository items based on the property settings applied in the old themes. This will allow you to easily create theme according to the new model without the need to create repository items with specific visual settings yourself. As a customer, you have access to the Source Code containing the theme xml files. You should just open Visual Style Builder select File >> Load Directory and point the dialog to a folder of a theme component. Then, you should just drag the appropriate repository items to the desired visual states.
