New MapInset drop down option

I didn't purposefully change anything in my code, but I am seeing a new little drop down gray button in the upper right of my map area.  When I click it, it opens a map inset with a rectange you can use to drag around to change position in the big map.  The problem is that there is no map image within the rectange here, so it doesn't look right.  Where are the settings for this?  Do I need to enable something for the map image to show?  How do I disable this?

I suppose that the feature that you mention, is the Mini Map feature that we introduced with Q2 2012 release. You can read more about it and how to disable it in our online documentation.
