Team,

I want to place a dropdown on radtabstrip control. But, I couldn't place a dropdown control inside the <tags> of <telerik:RadTabStrip>. I tried with radtoolbar control. But, I am not getting tab view with this control. I have attached my requirement. Kindly, look it out and suggest the best way to achieve it.

Hello Ubahariya,

Can you please explain why you need to place a dropdown in the RadTabstrip control. Probably we could suggest a more appropriate approach with another control to achieve the desired functionality. For example simply using the RadMenu could give you the same look as you are trying to accomplish by using the RadTabStrip control.

Thanks for your reply.

This is what our requirement. To be more clear, PFA. We need to load some functionality when we select the first item of dropdown and we have some other functionality when we select the second item of dropdown.

Throughout the site, we are using RadTabStrip control. In particular page alone, we have got to use dropdown within the RadTabStrip control as per the requirement. I appreciate If we could achieve the same RadTabStrip look and feel using RadMenu.

It would be helpful If you explain how to acheive like an attached image. It has dropdown with tab style. In most of the telerik pages I am looking these kind of tabstyle with dropdown. I have taken from the following URL: http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/splitter/examples/resizewithwindow/defaultcs.aspx.

Thanks & Regards

Hi Ubahariya,

The appearance that you need to achieve could be implemented using the RadMenu control. For example using some css class selectors you can put some margin between the root menu items as well as position the dropdown container a bit lower compared to its current position. Further you can customize the appearance by applying your own sprite as described here or use our visual style builder that is specially created for this purpose. Lastly you can apply an arrow image as demonstrated in the demo here.
