Can someone tell me, is it possible to do a call to a remote API with the combobox datasource???
I know it is possible using javascript, but i do not want to do it that way, please help

In general, if you need to call remote service from a browser (a.k.a client side) using AJAX, then you should use JavaScript. The Kendo UI as a client framework does not make an exception in this.
