Modal Dialog Recording After Refresh Issue

hello,

I'm trying to record a test on one of our ASP.Net applications. This test involves clicking a button which invokes the javascript window.showModalDialog(). The first time recorded this test I got a confirmation stating that a popup was detected and if I wanted to record steps within it. I clicked on "Yes" and continued recording some verification points.

After I performed an action on the popup that cause a postback, I was no longer able to record verifications. Everytime I clicked the "Enable or disable hover over highlighting" button on the parent page, it would no longer highlight the controls inside the modal popup.

Does anyone have a solution to this issue?

No one else has encountered this issue?
I've tried searching the forums, but what I'm experiencing is a bit different from other Modal Dialog issues I found.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Aleksander,

Sorry for the length of time you waited for a reply on this. Your problem description sounds fairly complex. The best way for us to reproduce this type of issue is to see what steps you are going through and the output you are receiving from our tool. I just created a dropbox folder on my account and sent an email to you for it. It is a non-public location to drop off the video we are requesting (meaning others won't see it outside of us within Telerik Support, it won't be posted on this forum posting).

After we receive the video we should be able to reproduce this issue on our end and provide more information to you regarding what steps to take next. We'll look for your reply.

This will most likely be enough information for them to review this, but they may also ask if it is possible to have access to your site so that we can test functionality after/while we are resolving it.

Hi Aleksander,

When Keaegan filed the bug he marked it to only be fixed in our next major release, which is scheduled for a few months away. As a result our developers haven't even looked at it believing it isn't a high priority.

Do you need a fix right away?

Hi Cody,

I am currently evaluating your product in order to make a selection of an automated testing tool for my team.
It is not critical to have this issue fixed right away, however the correct behavior of the modal dialog recording is a decisive requirement for our final selection.
Could you advise when is the next major release scheduled for?

Hello Aleksander,

We're still finalizing exactly what new features will be included in our next major release. As a result we haven't set an ETA yet. It will be sometime in the first half of 2011 though. Possibly as early as May but I cannot guarantee that at this time. Will that fit your needs for now?

I apologize for the delay responding to you. This bug has not been fixed yet. It is currently scheduled to be fixed soon and released with our service pack 1 which is due to be released in about 2-3 weeks.
