Hey guys,
Icenium Mist seems to be really slow.
Is Mist not working very well today? I am using the latest Chrome browser, Windows 7, signed in, but when I select a project to open or try to create a new project, I just get the 'Loading' bar.  I has been 5 minutes so far. Any ideas?

This happened to me yesterday too.

Found a work around here: http://www.icenium.com/signin/resources/forums/icenium-mist-/unable-to-load-any-projects-into-mist-on-chromebook-pixel-#vfkQ5n_xRmKLJP8AAPRZbQ

Seems like an issue with Chrome browser and Mist in general at the moment.
If you want to use Google Chrome use the Icenium Extension to launch the Mist site.
Otherwise use a Firefox.  I don't know about Safari and if it a Webkit issue in general or just a Chrome issue.

Hi Carlos,

It is a Chrome only issue or at least we were not able to reproduce it on Safari. Also just for the record, Mist is fully features only on Safari on Mac OS X and would not work on Safari for Windows (discontinued).

Hi Steve,

I just started my free trial of Icenium and I was really excited about it, but I can't get anything to open. Are you saying that Icenium only works in Safari on Mac OS? I don't have a Mac - is there any way I can use this product?

Thanks,

Mike

Hello Mike,

Don't worry, you can use Mist with Chrome and Firefox on a Windows OS, and with Chrome and Safari on a Mac OS as per the Icenium System Requirements. However, keep in mind that in Firefox you will not be able to use some features such as the UI designer.

If you are trying to run Mist in the latest Chrome and you are unable to create or open a project (you are not getting past the Loading screen), you can try one of the following workarounds.

  • Install the Icenium extension for Chrome and run Mist from the extension. If this works, always run Mist from the extension.
  • In your Chrome options, sign out, restart the browser, and sign back in.
  • In your Chrome options, remove any additional accounts, sign out and sign back in. You might need to remove your account as well.
  • If none of these help, you might need to resort to running Graphite.
