Hello Telerik Team,

I am using Marked Zones to display certain event timespans in a datetime based chart.

I need to give the user a way to find out what this event what, basically somehow showing a string to him, which can be accessed from any zoomlevel where the marked zone is visible.

Thus, I wanted to use the tooltip-property of a marked zone, but couldn't get it to show. The OnToolTipOpeing event is also not fired.

What is the best way to accomplish this task, to actually present the user a string together with a marked zone?

best regards

Ulrik

Hi Ulrich Witschaß,

Indeed, the current implementation features multiple layers, each with different responsibilities. By default, the layer, which is responsible for zooming by dragging is placed over the annotations. One possible approach in this case would be to place the annotations layer within the zoom layer. For this you would need to re-template the ChartArea. Please, find attached an updated version of the MarkedZones example,  where the first MarkedZone has its Tootip property set and the tooltip appears correctly, with Zoom/Scroll functionality added.

Kind regards,
