Hello,
I am in search for a forum control providing standart functionnalities (like this one).
I spent hours on codeplex but found nothing serious.
I also tryed YAF but it suffers from 2 points: not stable version, incredible license.
As I am not using MVC, I won't start with it before some years.
So I would appreciate Telerik to instroduce a new 'RadForum' control in next version.
Seems that everything is already here.
Same request for 'RadBlog' but less urgent, here I am looking for the featured enhancing last 'bloged' subjects just as in MS Blogs.
Thanks you for attention.

Hi Christian,
We have Blog and Forum modules as part of SiteFinity CMS. It might be a good idea to try them out -- they are built with RadControls.
All the best,

Hello Ivo,
Yes I know, this forum is running on SiteFinity, isn't it ?
But my portal is not Sitefinity and the format of controls is what make me buy RadControls Suite.
Do you mean thta in the SiteFinity I could find source code to biuld thses 2 controls ?

Hello Christian,
Yes the modules are built for SiteFinity. We do not yet have generic blogs/forums that can be used in any platform -- this will be a nice addition to our portfolio if more people show interest.

Hi,
I'm defiantly interested in the RadForum for ASP.NET AJAX control.
As a matter of fact, i've just created a support ticket asking if such control is in the telerik plan for the future.
Any news on that?
Thanks,
Ilan.

Hello Ilan,
No news on my side even on beta forums.
If Telerik decide some move, I hope they will include the fact that :
- users could be authenticated with a non dedicated membership provider,
- urls could be built using a provider to allow custom portals to use the forum.
It is one of my wishes for 2010.
Happy new year.

Hello guys,
Presently, we do not have plans to build stand-alone RadForum or RadBlog controls . One of the main reasons is that a forum or blog control encompasses quite a lot of functionality, and would be more conceivable if its implementation includes more than one control.
Nevertheless, you may be interested to look into the following demo:
http://demos.telerik.com/mvc/
or consider utilizing our Sitefinity CMS modules (as suggested by Ivo before), demonstrated here:
http://demo.sitefinity.com/Home.aspx
