Hi,

I've been struggling trying build my understanding of how the LiveTileHelper example works.  I'm trying to use the example code within its own project.  I've tried calling the user control from FirstLook.xaml inside my Mainpage xaml.  I' gave up on this idea because right now I lack the understanding of user controls inside a windows phone client.

I've even tried copying the xaml and code behind form FirstLook.xaml into a new page.  Each time I keeping getting an unexpected error.  I've check to make sure all the references in the xaml and code behind matched wtih FirstLook.xaml

It would help me if the examples themselves were in their own project.  The examples are in this massive application.  I'm impressed with how its structure.  It's just right now I'm at a beginner level trying to build my understanding of how to use the Telerik controls.

Would it possilbe to get the LiveTileHelper example in its own project?

So far I've had some successes with using the Telerik controls in my Windows Phone apps.  I'm very grateful for the help I've been getting from Telerik support both in the forms and on Twitter.

Thanks.

Hello Tom,

Thank you for contacting us.

I have prepared a sample application that illustrates the use of LiveTileHelper. In order to be simpler, the example only sets the front tile, but you can easily add a back tile in a similar way. Just set another element to the BackVisualElement property of the RadExtendedTileData element. Here you can find more information on the use of LiveTileHelper.

I hope this information helps.

Kind regards,

Hello Telerik support,

Thanks for the fast response and great support!  The example you provided helped more then you realized.   With the help of your example I was able to add the hubTile within the xaml of the Mainpage to get the flip animation working after setting the backcontent.  I now understand the LiveTileHelper example given with the Windows Phone control tool set.   I was able to use the BackLiveTile and FrontLive xaml within the example your provided.

Now I just need to understand how to update the secondary tile through a background agent.  I will review Telerik documentation and see what I can learn.

Thanks again.
