Is there an easy way to link a RadPivotGrid to a RadPieChart, in a similar way to the RadCartesianChart described here: http://docs.telerik.com/devtools/wpf/controls/radpivotgrid/features/radchartview-integration?

It depends on what exactly you want to display. Do you want to show multiple pie charts or a single one? How you would expect to look the pie and how it will be related to the data? Can you send me a drawing of the expected result?
