telerik is so popular that many companies purchase the license and use it.
As a team mate I eventually get added to licensed user list & it perfectly makes sense to get my self fit into my employers licence model & I like it.

For that to happen our admin / authorized-personal is most likely gonna use my current work email.

But at the same tome as a developer / resource I'd love to see some way if I can link that account to MY personal account that I've tied to my personal account. As I want that to last life time. And I want that same account to carry all my telerik points and forum history.

I am not sure if this is currently possible but it could be as I believe telerik apart from having impressive support, also have mature licensing and account model that fits the real world scenarios. If it IS possible, please create me a ticket and I can gladly give another email address / account to link to.

If not, I'd love to see that happening please !

Thanks,
-Aarsh

To clarify, let's say a developer joins a new company leaving an old one and if both those companies had purchased telerik license, a user might loose all his past forum / support threads and also teleirk points, if he / she created accounts using organizational email address for respective companies. Rather, if a developer chooses to tie teleirk account with his / her personal email address, and can link his / her verified account ... it might be great ! So his / her forum/support threads' history won't get lost, telerik points are not lost and same person's thread history and telerik points grow and prosper over the time.
Because let's face it sometime the authorized person / administrator might not let a developer use his / her personal account to be added as licensed users' list - which completely makes sense too !

On a less desired approach every time a developer changes an organization he / she requests telerik support to verify his / her identity from organizational account.

Let me know what do you think ?

Hello Aarsh,

Thank you for this feedback as this is something we have heard before.

Unfortunately it is not in Telerik's plans based on our licensing model. As we do not utilize license keys, and rather tie licenses directly to end user emails, a company bought license cannot be linked to a personal email. The licenses and all associated with them are considered intellectual property of the purchasing company and thus must be tied to a company email. This includes support tickets and premium forum post, as they are direct results of the company purchased support contract.

As for Telerik Points, they are user generated, and can be transferred to a personal email at any point.

Joseph

Thanks, but I did/do not intend(ed) to tie company's licence to my personal email address to use it ... but thanks for mentioning it anyway =)

My intent was to have one account to build a consistent and consolidated knowledge base of my own questions in the past, that I had for myself and I believe that as a developer I can develop using telerik products a little better if I could easily drill out something if I remember I had to confront something similar in the past.

Thanks again,
-Aarsh
