MapQuest has released a new version on 11 July, 2016. And our Kendo Map does not work anymore.
At the current, my project is facing this problem. Please preference to Telerik demo to get more detail:

http://docs.telerik.com/kendo-ui/controls/diagrams-and-maps/map/how-to/custom-bubble-layer-symbols

So, the question is when does Kendo map support the new change from MapQuest? I have contacted MapQuest support team, but there is still no response till now.

Is there any workaround solution to solve it while we are waiting the official Telerik build supports that case?

Hi Eric,

MapQuest have discontinued their legacy direct tile access:

http://devblog.mapquest.com/2016/06/15/modernization-of-mapquest-results-in-changes-to-open-tile-access/

Your options with regard to the Kendo UI Map widget are to subscribe for a MapQuest plan or change the tile provider.

http://docs.telerik.com/kendo-ui/controls/diagrams-and-maps/map/layers#tile-layers

The Kendo UI Map is able to use any tile provider, which complies with the Time Map Service standards. In other words, the tile provider should be able to serve tiles via configurable URLs (e.g. which include your MapQuest API key). You may want to verify this before subscribing for a plan.

We have opted to replace MapQuest in our demos and documentation examples with OpenStreetMap. Changes in the documentation will take effect shortly.

Regards,
Dimo
