First of all: we are using RadControls Q3 2011 in our project due to the integration into the customer's software.

In a GridView we set a default grouping for a specific column. Additionally each row's DataContext may have a list of objects which should be shown inside the RowDetails. Since some rows do not have such a list, the RowDetailsToggleButton is hidden for such a row. The RowDetails are expanded by default.

Now here is the problem:
Sometime, when someone tries to scroll the grid, it happens that a large blank white area is shown at the top of the grid. The white space does not disappear until a reload of the data or page is initiated. A screenshot is attached. You can see the white area and the first visible row. Another row is expanded right underneath. When scrolling to the top there is white space only - no more rows.

The issue did not occur when we removed the grouping. As you can see it was slightly styled. Furthermore, if all RowDetails are collapsed the white space only (sometimes) appears for the whole grid when expanding one row but disappears as soon as the user scrolls a little. With EnableRowVirtualization=false the issue did not occur. Unfortunately the data is quiet large and therefore can not disable virtualization.

Maybe the issue is fixed within the current release of RadControls, but until the customer decides to update their software we have to stick to Q3 2011.

Any ideas?

Hi Aaron,

Thank you for contacting us.

I could hardly guess what may be the problem since the information you provided is not enough. Please open a support ticket to send us a very basic runnable sample project, so we can reproduce the issue and debug the application accordingly. This will enable us to determine the cause of the problem and to provide an accurate solution.

Thank you in advance!

Thanks for your response.
We are evaluating this problem on a test machine with a more recent version of the RadControls and Silverlight 5. I will update this post as soon as we have more information on this issue.
