We have several controls in our system that are using the DatePicker. What I would like to know is if there is a way to close the DatePicker when the user selects the date.
Currently, when the user picks a date from the popup calendar, the calendar does not close until the user clicks somewhere on the screen other than the calendar.
Thanks!

Please could you download our binaries from latest internal build and try with them. Please, inform us if the issue still persists.
I will be glad to assist you further.

Hi George,
I have installed the latest binaries and the issue still persists.
What I want is similar to the date picker at Orbitz.com When you select your date the date picker popup closes and the selected date appears in the text box. Can the DatePicker control do this?
Thanks!

Hi Elke,
I have tested with assemblies version 2010.2.903.1040 and can confim that the control acts as you want. Can you let us know which is the version of telerik controls you are using.
All the best,

George,
I see the same issue. It isn't that the selected date doesn't appear in the text box, I think the issue is that you should be able to double click on a date (and/or time) and the picker should close itself. You shouldn't have to click on anywhere else withing the window to make the picker collapse. It is not intuitive, and users spend a minute double clicking trying to make it go away.
Cheers,
Paul

I determined that it was a problem within a custom style I had made for the date picker that caused the default behavior to change. Once I fixed that it works as it should.
