when is Telerik.WinControls.Themes.ControlDefault.dll needed?  do all the controls function and look the same without it?  I'm running Telerik WinForms v2010.1.409

Thank you for the question.

The true and correct ControlDefault theme is contained in the Telerik.WinControls.UI.dll, so you do not need to add a reference to the Telerik.WinControls.Themes.ControlDefault.dll assembly. It has been removed in our latest release.
