Hi All,

I am having a scenario to export the rad grid view data into a excel sheet. I am done with the telerik samples, now my question is whether we need to check the client machine having excel installed to make this functionality working? if so i have to include the business logic to check that too.

If any one know the answer for this question, kindly post it here.

Thanks in advance,
Selva.

Hi,

Basically, RadGridView's export logic uses a given stream to export its content into some text format that is readable with MS Excel (ExcelML, HTML or CSV). Excel itself never gets involved in the exporting process. Actually you can use any text editor to open the output file, as it is a simple text file (not binary).
