Is ChartView appropriate for OLAP data source?

Hi Telerikers !

Please take a look at Dundas OLAP Chart control (discontinued product)

It is perfect for my requirements
- OLAP cube datasource (Sql Server)
- Viewable over the web / Browser
- Chart display
- Tabular (grid) display
- Mouseover shows desired info
- Exports to standard formats e.g. pdf, csv, Excel

Is there a Telerik equivalent that comes close to this, or a combination of controls that i can use to achive the same thing?
(Ajax preferable, but Silverlight is acceptable).

Hi Joe,

You can find an example demostrating OLAP support here. Unfortunately, we do not ship pivot chart control and RadChartView is not able to use XmlaDataProvider like RadPivotGrid, so in order to achieve the same functionality you will have to extract the data and send it to RadChart (be it through a service or other approach). I should also mention that grouping the items along X axis is not available, so I am afraid the bottom line is that we cannot provide a chart which serves the needs of this example out of the box. This control is in our view, but I cannot provide any estimation on its availability.

   I have query with this post: can we not integrate RadPivotGrid from SSAS Cube to RadHtmlChart directly without extracting from any other service.

The current thread is related to the CharView control for Silverlight and not for the RadHtmlChart for ASP.NET. I will ask that you post your question in the forum section of the control you use. Thank you for understanding.
