Hi,

I have been to test some code that needs to be run only when a newer version of my app is installed, so I need to keep increasing my version number and rebuild the entire project in order to test it.
The problem is that whenever I make changes to my code and rebuild the app, it does not seem to execute the updated code until I do a three finger refresh. I am trying to build my app in debug mode using a wildcard provisioning profile as I need to debug on the actual device.
This problem started occurring since the last AppBuilder Backend Service degradation issue that happened 3 days ago. I believe that something went wrong while getting the service up and running.

Is anybody else facing this issue?

Regards

Hi Nader,

Thank you for reporting this. As I was unable to reproduce the faulty behavior on my end, I would like to ask you for some additional details. For example, which AppBuilder client are you using? What are the exact steps you take, in order to build the application? Do you Build and Deploy the app on connected device, or Build it in the cloud. If the second, I believe you are building it as an Application Package and not as an AppBuilder Companion app?

Further, could you try manually uninstalling the app from the device and trying again?

I am looking forward to your reply.

Hi Kaloyan,

I am currently using the windows AppBuilder client.

When building my app, I would first check that the "Build Settings" is set to "Debug",then proceed to build my app in the cloud as an Application Package. I use an enterprise Apple account to build an inhouse app using a wildcard provisioning profile.

If I uninstall the app and re-install it, everything works fine and my updates are executed. But this is not an ideal solution as the users would lose all of their data saved by the app.

Hoping to hear from you soon.

Regards

Hello Nader,

I managed to reproduce the faulty behavior on my side. It seems like when you update the Version number, the next time you build and deploy the app via QR code, it still loads the old content. This most likely is a bug in the AppBuilder In-Browser client, as it is not reproducible in other clients, or other deployment methods. I have added it in our backlog in order to investigate what is the exact cause for it and fix it in future AppBuilder releases.

Until then, I would suggest either not changing the Version number for your sequential builds (this will also delete any user data you have on the device for that application), or to use LiveSync after each new build. Please, excuse us for any inconveniences caused.

I hope this helps.

P.S. For reporting the issue to us, I have granted you some Telerik points. Thank you!
