Hi.  I know that iOS7 is not released yet, but it is now time to resolve the bugs.  Our app PMTQuote, produced with Icenium, now has major icon problems in iOS7.  As you can see in the attached files, on the App store search results and on Springboard, the App icon is replaced by the icon of Icenium Ion.  However on the App store detailed view, the proper App icon is displayed.  The app has not been updated since iOS7 was released, and everything still works properly on other versions of iOS, and there is no other app that I have seen "losing their icon" in iOS7.  Therefore, there is a strong possibility that it is related to Icenium itself.

Please advise

Hi Patrick,

Have you changed all the icons for your app in Project Properties from the default Icenium icons?

Yes we did (unless you added new ones since the app was released on May 20th.  More importantly, don't forget that all the icons are there, nothing is missing for the SAME app on iOS 6.x .  If we had missed one or more, same would happen on iOS6.  Thoughts ?

Hi Patrick,

Could you please open Project Properties, switch to the iOS tab and expand the iPhone and iPad icons sections, take a screenshot and attach it here?

Same is happening to us, (this is still on test devices, we don't have any apps in the app store), if we deploy the app to any device with iOS 6 the icons work, on our test devices with iOS7 the icenuim app icon shows.

I am glad to see that (finally) we are not the only ones.  If anything, given the fact that there is no graphic missing in the App properties in Icenium, nor is there anything missing according to Apple when we submit, the problem can only be with Icenium itself, and the way the app is packaged.  After all, let's not forget that the missing app icons are not "empty" they are replaced by the Icenium Ion icon, so that can only come from Icenium itself.  I guess that one could argue that it might be an iOS7 problem, but while it is in theory possible, if that was the case, statistically there would be more iOS apps affected by the same issue.

Regardless, better find out now, than in 3 months when the release comes out.

Hello,

Please make sure you have populated all the icon fields in the Properties page of your project - both for iPhone AND iPad, even for apps targeting only one or the other. Even though I can't find anything official in the iOS 7 pre-release docs, it appears that the App Store.app and Spotlight now use a different set of icons to preview the app in listings.

This doesn't mean that the app's icon you published it with has suddenly changed - the icon is the same, it's just that the OS now respects another one of all the icons iOS requires. Please unzip your IPA package and check out all the icons inside - if you haven't changed any of the default icons in Project Properties, its Icenium placeholder will be placed there instead.

tl;dr - Please double-check that ALL the icons in your project are the ones you expect, not the Icenium wire-frame image.
