"invalid json primitive: undefined" pops up in IE when I start my web app.

I have isolated it to a single control inside a sliding panel.  On this control if I set height and width both to 100%, I do not get the error message.  If I instead set height and width to something fixed like 300px, then I get the message.  The control is third party, ESRI ArcGIS Server Map control.

My page is a simple nested splitter design.

If I create a new page just a splitter, and two panels, one with the map control, then I do not get the error.

How do you even begin to troublshoot "invalid json primitive: undefined" popup problem?

I am getting the same error from Scheduler - but there is no response on that. Even I can't even find my post anymore - looks like they deleted it??

Hello Piyush,

Your forum post was converted to support ticket and you can attach an example which will demonstrate the problem.

John,
I suggest you to open a formal support ticket and send us small project where we can reproduce this error. We will review your scenario and we will get back to you with more info.

Best wishes,
Vlad

Hi -

I don't think I can start a support call till I am a customer right?  I am planning on purchasing next week as RadControls Prometheus is awesome.  But I wanted to make sure I could use it with ESRI ArcGIS Server so I don't buy it only to find out I can use it.  Since ArcGIS Server 9.3 is in beta right now, and prometheus is in beta right now, it would be swell if this little issue could get figured out.  If I purchase it, I am afraid you will not be able to run my simple sample that shows the error as you would need ArcGIS Server in order to add the control to a radpane that shows the problem.  I can happily give you my sample code demonstrating the problem, and could give you remote access to a server to look at if you need it, and if its not a problem wtih prometheus, I will happily work with ESRI on it.  I know you can't support all third party controls, but this is a really big one.

Hello jtby,

As you found out yourself, you can open a support ticket without being a client. I already answered in your support thread and for your convenience I am pasting my post below:

I opened a new Web site and pasted your code there after removing the lines concerning your custom code. Then I run the project and it works as expected, the described error does not occur.

Generally this error occurs when using ajax and therefore you should examine your custom code. In case it contains RadControls and they cause this, please send us a fully running project with detailed explanation of the steps which has to be followed to recreate the issue.

Best regards,

Hi Shawn,

In order to be able to help we will need to reproduce your problem locally.

We want to kindly ask you to open a new support ticket and provide a sample, fully runnable project which reproduces the problem.

Svetlina,

Thank you for the reply.  I am quite impressed with the support here at Telerik.
I downloaded the latest release and no longer had the problem.

Thank you,
