Hi there!

I was facing an issue and have been struggling with it since Friday but couldn't find any solution to it.

While searching on internet I found the same issue on you samples and demos website, if you go to this link:

http://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/grid/editing-inline

If you click on "Add New Record" button, a new empty row is added into the grid, now without saving this new row, if you click on Edit button in any of other rows, the empty row that was added against Add action gets removed, which is fine, but the row which you want to Edit, it doesn't come up in editable mode.

Is there any fix for it or it is the behavior of the grid?

Regards

Waqar

Hello Wagar,

I would imagine this is actually the normal behavior because there's not a practical use for editing a row while having an empty (or partially empty) record that hasn't been saved. Interestingly enough, the delete button does work in the same scenario. I'm going to guess it was just not worth to consider and code for that scenario.

May I ask why would you want to do that?

Hello,

The current behavior is expected and by design, because when the editing of the newly added row is canceled, the table is re-binded and the row, which 'edit' button was clicked, does not exist anymore. The 'delete' operation works, as it operates as it rebinds the table only after confirmation. You could assure this in the demo, because the confirmation window is shown, while the newly added row is still in edit mode.
