Hi,

The XAML Development community could really use controls like the Windows 8 Start menu.

These appear to combine Panorama, HubTile and a type of WrapPanel.

The idea of combining navigation with content into a live dashboard with drill in to the underlying content is extremely powerful for Line of Business applications.  Clearly, most of will be building those types of native applications in XAML in WPF/Silverlight for the foreseeable future.

We're looking for a both the Start Menu Live Tile type functionality along with the Grouped Item and Detail type tile pages that are prevalent in the WinRT style of applications, but in WPF/Silverlight Desktop Applications which can actually live in a multi-tasking environment.

To help facilitate the Telerik Product Teams in seeing how hot this is, I have brought together just a few of the various sources of interest into a single post.  Although the posts are fractured and in various locations, there is clearly a high degree of interest in a ready made solution.

Community, Please vote for the items at the top of the below links.

Product teams, please get us something pronto.  DevExpress has a huge lead on this currently.

Thanks,

David Davids

This is a great idea.

If Telerik would also offer Metro style touch controls for WPF/Silverlight, we would be able to build real Multi Target applications (Desktop(Silverlight/WPF) and tablet/surface (Silverlight/WPF Metro controls)
This would be a great solution for corporate development.

The Windows RT surface for ARM is only for the consumer market. But the Windows 8 Pro surface with a full Windows 8 OS would be great within our company.

Application for desktop and tablet could be developed using the same code. Only the view has to be changed. This is not possibile with the new XAML/C# WinRT controls.
Maybe other hardware distributors will offer other Touch tablets, where Windows 7 could be installed.
We would be able going on using our existing tools, exchange the views (PRISM(MVVM) with Telerik Metro Style Touch Silverlight/WPF controls.
Cool!

Hello,

As we stated in some of our responses on the same topic, such control/s are included in our development plans but for the time being we cannot commit their availability for a certain release or date.

Hi.

Can you say any more about if/when HubTile would be available in WPF/Silverlight. This is a great control that would be ideal in the WPF/Silverlight world.
