When I import an html document that contains <Hn> tags they get converted to <p> tags with css styles to manage the formatting when they are subsequently exported/saved as html. Is this the planned behavior? I looked at the equivalent behavor for <li> tags and their identity is retained.

I would certainly vote for the retention of <Hn> tag identity!

If I can combine two questions into a single post - any guidance you can provide on how to set a heading using the RichTextBox would be appreciated. I'm looking for the equivalent functionality to the drop down list that permits you set the style of the paragraph to the associated stylesheet classes or to defined tags, i.e., <Hn>

Thanks for the prompt respones to forum posts!

Hello Arthur Colman,

The export and import operations are completely independent. Hence, when import is performed the file is converted to DOM model of RadRichTextBox control. Th export operation works with the DOM model to produce the desired output format. When you bold and increase the size of paragraph, it is difficult to understand whether you want it to be a header or not. This is a complex task. Nevertheless, you are right that the import and export should produce almost equivalent results. We will consider your suggestion in one of the next releases. In the meantime, I cannot provide you with a solution.

Thanks for the response Svett,

Here is my logic.

Since:
  • Html provides tags for headings (<h1> - - <hn>)
  • Telerik manages lists in a special manner so as to retain their identity.
  • Converting heading tags to paragraph tags results in a loss of their identity.

It would be approapriate to:

  • Retain the identity of headings so that formatting changes (as you indicate below) can be applied while **retaining the structure** of the document.
