My HTC Desire phone cannot type 9 on the keyboard. The key shows up on the soft keyboard but nothing happens when it is clicked. It doesn't matter if the keyboard is the regular alphabetic keyboard or the numerical one for phone numbers. Long-click doesn't work either (although that is mentioned from Kendo as a known bug). This issue occurs on all input elements (text, number, tel, etc).  This problem is not apparent when using the simulator and selecting Android 2.3.5. Everything works fine there. I have to build the app and run it on my phone to get this issue. I've had other colleagues test this app on their phones and they don't have this issue (iPhone 4S, Samsung Note 2).

Number 9 is the only key I've found that doesn't work on my phone. It is very strange and random. I've been reading up on some of the issues with Android (and specifically Android 2.x) handling input elements and Kendo UI Mobile trying to hack a fix. I've tried using the Kendo suggested use-native-scrolling and CSS input styles to no avail. I've also tried Cordova 2.4.0 and 2.7.0 and the issue occurs in both.

This issue is preventing me from publishing my app so any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jordan,

According to this Cordova code, the problem is fixed for 2.x devices, so it should be working (it is on our end, different device but Android 2.x). The "bad" news is that Cordova have dropped the support for Android 2.x in v.2.8, so you would have to either stay on old version of Cordova or consider upgrading your device or its OS at least.
