Is there a way to show/hide a parameter filter based on a field value or report parameter value and how can you use an expression to show/hide other elements.

Hi Trevor,

Report Parameters work the other way around. The major usages of the report parameters are:

  • to vary report data retrieved from a Data Source component
  • in expressions to directly provide a value
  • in data item filtering, sorting or grouping criteria
According to your description, you want to hide a parameter based on field value, which as you can see is the opposite of what they are meant to do.

In general you can use Conditional Functions to create a conditional filter, this way it would work only when you want it to. You can show/hide report items with expressions by utilizing Conditional Formatting or Bindings.
