I haven't found a nice solution, but I'm using Manipulation Started/Completed events and check the .Zoom property. Not very nice, but seems to work.

Hi,
It is in our plans to include an event in RadSlideView that will fire when it changes its modes: from the image in full screen to zoomed image or to filmstrip mode and then when the mode changes back.
If you are using the PanAndZoomImage inside RadSlideView this event will be useful for you scenario as well. If you use the PanAndZoomImage alone you can continue with your approach.
The new event will be available with the official release in mid-October.
I hope this information helps.
