Is there any way to check if the bing map is online and working so we can clearly message to the user if it is disconnected?  Otherwise, it loses the ability to get more tiles and zoom in results in blurry tiles which is not necessarily clear to the user that it is because they are disconnected from the internet.

Second question, different use case - is there any way to tell if the user has a valid key?  There was an older post from 2010 on this, but the api's used in that answer are no longer available evidently.  This case is more obvious because you never even get any tiles, but still might be nice to message it to the user.

BTW - we are an SSL app so there are crossdomain restrictions, and we must handle the case that the user may need to use a proxy to access the internet.

Thanks,
Gabe

Hi Gabe,

Unfortunately there is not a way to handle connection problems for the Bing map provider in the current version of the RadMap. We are planning to add new event for the Bing Map Provider which allow to check that the provider is initialized wrong in the future versions. You can check when this feature will be available using our PITS:
