Hi I am working on raddropdownbutton. I put radtreeview in dropdowncontent. in some case i should maintain dropdown open state depending  on which item is selected by end user. If end user selected root node or second depth node, dropdown should be in open
state. How can i do this?
I tried to set isOpen property to true  and radroutedeventargs's handled property to true in radtreeview's previewselected event.
But it never worked . I found DropDownClosed event but i can't find DropDownClosing event
Is there any way how to solve my situation?

Regards,
Park

Hello Samuel,

Thank you for contacting us.

We are sorry but currently there is no workaround to achieve what you want. Actually there is an internal mechanism to prevent this behavior, but it is not accessible outside our assemblies. We are planning to publicize it with our Q3 Service Pack 1 release.

We hope this information will help you.

Thanks for reply

Could you tell me When  ETA of Q3 Service Pack 1 is ? I should solve this situation because dropdown button should be placed
on all pages of my control. If it can't be done , whole design of my application will be reconsidered.

Regards,
Park

PS: If i buy silverlight component , Is there any chance to get internal build the internal mechanizm included ?

Hello Samuel,

The Service Pack is targeted for the beginning of the December.

About internal builds - yes we are releasing our internal build each (almost) Friday.

About your release plans - could you please share what is your deadline for getting this functionality. If we not publicize the feature we can still send a custom build for you.

Best wishes,
Ivan

Hello

I am working on prototype of my application and my client asked me to finish my prototype before  November, 25th. So
I must implement this functionality ASAP.  if it is impossible to get custom build which support this  functionality by end of november

I should reconsider UI design patterns of application. We are going to purchase telerik component after i show prototype of application to the client.

Park

Was this ever resolved in the Q3 Release?

I am using Telerik for Silverlight version 2010.2.903.1040 and cannot find the DropDownClosing event, nor can I find how to properly disable it from closing until I want it to.

I currently have some RadDateTimePicker controls in the DropDownContent and I don't want them to be able to close it until all are filled in. I tried using the DropDownClosed event and setting the IsOpen property there, but that doesn't do anything at all, and there is no way to "handle" it to prevent it from doing it.

If there is a workaround, or some way to prevent closing the DropDown on a RadDropDownButton I would be most ecstatic.

Thanks!

Hi bborie0107,

Unfortunately there isn't a way to stop the closing of the DropDownContent of the RadDropDownButton at the moment. However, we will do our best to implement such functionality as soon as possible. There are two associated items in our PITS which you can keep track of:
1. RadDropDownButton: Add KeepOpen property
2. DropDownButton: Add Closing event - this item should be available tomorrow the latest.

You can vote for both items thus increasing their priority. Please accept our apology for the caused inconvenience.

Kind regards,
